Subject: NCDC APPLICATIONS FOR OTTERHAM AND TICH BARROW
Hello,
I asked Simon King for a sitrep ; he said that :-
Re Otterham (2006/01274 )
The applicants plan to uprate the power output to ( 4x 1.3 ) = 5.2 MW,but they are they are still looking for turbines of this capacity which will conform with an overall height of 71 m. . He believes that turbines of this height are in short supply since the current trend is to manufacture taller ones. There might also be further environmental considerations in terms of noise.
Re Tich Barrow (2007/01497 )
The number of turbines has been reduced to 3 , the most northerly having been withdrawn . This is due to its proximity to a house which is scheduled to be built nearby , for which planning permission had previously been approved by NCDC - a fact which apparently escaped the notice of both the Council and the applicants until recently.
The revised plan is for 3x100m high turbines each delivering 2.3MW ; a total of 6.9MW. There may be, as for Otterham , problems associated with availability and noise.
I asked for changes to E.Statements and the results of reconsulting to be made available to us in writing so that we could if necessary amend our rebuttal statements. S.K. said that he would look at the files and , if he thought that the changes merited it , he would invite us to view them . I will follow this up.
S.K hopes that both applications will be on the agenda for the P&D.Committee meeting on Tuesday 15th.July.
Will advise further.
Best wishes,
Alan G.

Re. TICH BARROW (2007/01497 )
Further to the info in my email dated 31st.May :-
There may be problems associated with radio links. Surveys are in hand and the Joint Radio Council is monitoring .
Concerns have been expressed by NATS (Air Traffic ) about beacons used by Atlantic flight traffic suffering from interference from turbines.
Noise -- Environmental Health is in consultation.
Re. OTTERHAM (2006/01274)
Still awaiting report from applicants re possibility of increasing power output.
Comments from STINC re photomontages have been noted and the applicants and Council Landscape department have been asked for their reaction.
Re. DELABOLE
The photomontages in the E.S are being considered by NCDC.
Re.DAVIDSTOW
S.K expects to publish application before long.
Best wishes,
Alan G.
