Planning application progress
09/05/2008
Original source: STINC |
Alan Goodenough of GAWP has kindly passed on to us the latest situation with regards planning.
Neither Otterham nor Titch Barrow will be on the planning agenda before July 2008.
Simon King is waiting for replies to further inputs which have been made to the Environmental Statement for Otterham, and there will possibly be an amendment to the application for that site; the currently planned turbines would have a lower power output than those at Titch Barrow. Since it would be highly unlikely that both sites would be approved due to their proximity, it may be planned to make Otterham more competitive by increasing the output of its turbines. They would not be made taller.
Titch Barrow appears to have problems regarding interference with the Microwave link between Davidstow Airfield and Treskinnick Cross.
The Case Officer says that the deciding factor as to which ( if either) of the two applications would succeed would depend on the balance between power output and the effect on the local landscape.
He intends that, if it is possible, both applications will be considered at the same meeting.
There is no forecast date for considering Delabole.
* We must all press the planners to still hold a site meeting when the applications are to be considered. *
